About the Team:
The Subscriptions team’s mission is to convert free Quizlet users into delighted subscribers to retain them long-term, helping them achieve their goals while improving revenue control and predictability for the business. Over the last two years, our annual billings have grown ~5x, and we expect this to continue accelerating as we continue to expand internationally!
The Subscriptions team’s work ranges from:
- optimizing upgrade pages and upsells
- improving premium feature engagement to boost trial survival and renewal rates
- building robust infrastructure required to manage subscriptions and facilitating payments across dozens of different currencies and alternative payment methods
About the Role:
The Subscriptions team is responsible for increasing conversion of Quizlet’s free users into subscribers and retaining these subscribers long-term to maximize subscriptions billings growth. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager for this pod who will partner cross-functionally with the team’s engineering manager, designer, analyst, engineers, and product marketers. You will help build and maintain Quizlet’s subscription packages, payment infrastructure, and pricing strategy; you will also optimize subscriber engagement, retention and minimize disputes and refund rates. This will include work to deepen premium feature engagement, refine subscriber lifecycle communications, and bolster subscriber retention strategies to help us achieve our ambitious subscriptions goals.
There may be some travel (1-2x per quarter) to San Francisco required.
In this role, you will:
- Define the product vision for a significant component of Quizlet’s subscriptions growth efforts including subscriber conversion, engagement, and retention
- Deeply understand the subscriber funnel, working relentlessly with your team to identify the biggest areas of opportunity to convert and retain more Quizlet subscribers
- Partner with the user research and design teams to conduct user interviews and perform other qualitative market research to inform our product roadmap
- Prioritize product ideas and ship experiments to deliver a delightful subscriber experience that helps retain subscribers at higher rates
- Coordinate with marketing to ensure subscribers receive personalized communications through email, push notifications, and other channels to provide a delightful experience
- Own metrics for subscriptions growth in the U.S. and international markets with a focus on subscriber engagement and retention, working with an analyst to conduct relevant analyses and share regular updates to the executive team
- Develop and execute strategies to minimize subscriber refund and dispute rates, ensuring the long-term health and success of our subscriptions business
- Push our thinking forward about how to deliver the best possible subscriber experience in order to maximize subscriber and subscriptions billings growth
What you bring to the table:
- 4+ years of PM experience, ideally at an eCommerce company
- Experience in the business side of product management with a strong desire to move subscriber and subscriptions billings metrics in highly visible and measurable ways
- A user-centric approach to product management with a proven track record for building and testing delightful user experiences and delivering quantifiable results
- Exceptional quantitative skills applied through impact modeling and experiment analysis
- Experience running A/B tests and understand best practices for gathering accurate, actionable results
- Comfortable working on a cross-functional team in a fast-paced startup environment with imperfect information and limited resources
- Excitement about bringing the magic of Quizlet’s premium subscriptions to millions of learners across the world, helping to grow our business in the process
Bonus points if you have experience:
- Working for a consumer subscriptions business on a team responsible for user growth and/or monetization
- In management consulting or investment banking and/or an advanced degree in a relevant field (MBA, Masters in Engineering, etc)
Compensation, Benefits & Perks:
- Colorado candidates: Base pay for this role starts at $116,000. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience
