Microsoft Advertising (MSA) is a worldwide Sales, Marketing, Business and Operations organization on the cutting edge of the digital advertising industry. We are the engine that powers the buying and selling of digital advertising across all aspects of our digital portfolio including our high-growth search engine, Bing, and consumer services like MSN, Microsoft News, Xbox, and Outlook.


We are looking for a Sr.Technical Program Manager -  Opportunity Analytics team within the Global Business Planning function of Microsoft Advertising (MSA). As a TPM at MSA, you will focus on analyzing monetization performance and identifying growth opportunities across regions, products, and advertiser segments within the global business. In this position, you’ll work with large data sets to gain a thorough understanding of the factors that drive growth across our ad platform, publishers, advertisers, and consumers in international markets. A key responsibility will be developing strategies to translate marketplace trends into actionable advertiser growth opportunities, collaborating with stakeholders to create sales initiatives, and measuring the impact and effectiveness of these programs.


This role requires an individual with depth of knowledge of the global advertising space - in particular performance advertising and audience-led buying across search, display, native or programmatic - a keen intellect for generating data driven answers to complex business questions as well as superior communication skills to influence a range of different partners and stakeholders.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S, country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.


Responsibilities
  • Lead & develop an effective framework to identify growth opportunities through analysis of marketplace, advertiser and monetization trends for the global markets and drive demand programs in partnership with relevant teams to help execute against the opportunities
  • Serve as the key partner to Business Planning, Demand Planning,  Market Sciences, and Sales Strategy teams on opportunities, programs and measurement.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects with the basic theme of analyzing large quantities of data to generate meaningful actionable insights for our advertisers
  • Collaborate with different parts/teams of the Microsoft Advertising eco system, as required, to leverage diverse assets and tools towards solving on-demand business problems
  • Showcase thought leadership by unlocking newer and lesser explored areas of driving sustainable advertiser demand growth through effective monitoring of demand performance, quality, and diversification including the development of suitable frameworks and building the case for Leadership team buy-in, where appropriate.
  • Research evolving industry trends and our competitive landscape to understand implications for our business and advertiser base – develop and land strategic recommendations with our business leadership.
  • Be a Strategic Advisor: Provide thought leadership, advice, influence and insight to partners across other teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience of applying sophisticated analytics to solve complex business questions. 
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with turning large scale data into actionable insights and decisions.
  • Hands-on approach to data analysis / data mining with a solid focus on quality.
  • Experience with MS Excel.
  • Superior communications skills, both verbal and written and ability to engage with business partners and executives to influence and drive data based strategic decisions. 
  • Experience with SQL, PowerBI and Python.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
