About this role
Faire is looking for an AV Engineer to join our IT Team. In this role, you’ll be the primary resource responsible for planning, designing, deploying, maintaining, and continuously improving all of Faire’s audiovisual solutions around the globe. This will be a highly-visible role that is critical to helping implement new visions for how Faire employees work, whether it be remotely, in-offices worldwide, or a combination of those. In addition to those aspects, you’ll also lead production and execution efforts for company-wide meetings and events, such as our weekly all-hands meetings and seasonal or milestone audiovisual and multimedia events. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the latest technologies, is a self-starter, has a keen attention to detail, thrives on thinking outside the box, and is eager to learn and grow with us!
What you’ll do
- Design audiovisual solutions for a variety of different types of spaces and a variety of unique needs and circumstances
- Constantly improve and provide feedback on current system designs and help evolve new designs to meet the growing needs of efaire
- Actively solicit feedback from all parts of the organization to drive improvements to existing deployments and future AV deployment decision making
- Provide thought and engineering leadership regarding all things AV at all levels of the organization
- Collaborate with IT leadership and Faire’s Workplace team to plan, design, and implement AV for a growing number of new Faire offices all over the world, including working with architectural drawings
- Source, develop, and manage partnerships with AV Vendors and contractors in local office areas to provide excellent, localized support for Office AV needs worldwide
- Research, evaluate, test, analyze, and recommend the latest and greatest technology available in the AV space to maximize the experience for Faire employees regardless of location
- Craft and produce an incredible weekly experience for the Maker’s Faire weekly all hands meeting
- Respond to AV trouble tickets and provide support both remotely and in-person
- Establish, communicate, and enforce audiovisual standards across all locations, providing comprehensive documentation available to all and additional training where needed
- Coach presenters and participants on best practices for events
- Create, organize, improve, and maintain internal and user-facing documentation
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in IT or technology-related roles
- 2+ years experience designing, deploying, and supporting top-end audiovisual systems
- Extensive experience with Zoom software and a variety of compatible hardware solutions
- Advanced knowledge of audio, video and control systems as well as architectural and cabling requirements and signal flow
- Adept with Dante networked audio
- Cool, calm, collected, and solutions-focused under pressure
- Resolve issues quickly and implement and pivot to backup solutions for events
- Dedication to creating an amazing employee experience with AV and technology
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and experience with audiences at all organizational levels
- Passion for technology, driven to keep up with the latest trends
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
- Familiarity with work management systems such as Zendesk and Jira
- Technology-focused or Business degree or certifications (such as Certified Technology Specialist)
- Understanding of construction methods, contracts, and blueprints
- Knowledge of acoustics and acoustic design theory
- Experience using CAD
