The Design Operations Lead is a crucial role within the Design and UX team responsible for leading and managing the team’s business operations and helps shape and drive the creative team’s craft, processes, and priorities. This role focuses on building our DesignOps function. This person will help define our operational strategy and project management processes. This team member will create standards and best practices that improve our cross-functional collaboration and communication regarding workflows, project estimations, and long-range planning, appropriately prioritizing based on design/writing capacity and business needs. This role requires excellent project and people management skills as they will help organize logistics and cohere creative, production, and support staff across essential branding, campaign and product initiatives.


You will support the Design and UX team and work with key members—from stakeholders to Creative leads and members of the Creative team, in keeping projects on track while managing partner business goals, dependencies and expectations. As part of the Creative allocation, project management, and oversight, you will also manage vendors and production timelines across a variety of mediums, digital, print and video. You have demonstrated excellence and success in your problem solving, your processes, and your ability to and work with cross-functional teams. You are a resourceful, collaborative, and highly effective A-player who will help us express Hinge Health as the smart, collaborative, and outcome-focused company we are.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Lead the vision, roadmap, and strategy for the DesignOps function including and Design Program Management throughout our Creative organization.
  • Workflow Project Management (50%)

  • Capture and formalize new project requests and assignments
  • Identify scope of design deliverables, assign resources, and manage design projects as well as design involvement in cross-functional projects
  • Map out production schedules and dependencies, schedule meetings
  • Work cross-functionally to collaborate with managers, creative teams, press strategists, and other department or program stakeholders
  • Coordinate production cycles of multiple creative projects and campaigns
  • Oversee workflow in partnership with CD and Creative leads
  • Managing Sprint deliverables to ensure an efficient and effective execution
  • Vendor Management (30%)

  • Initiate and/or manage vendor logistics including contracts and onboarding
  • Manage logistics for new and ongoing vendors and contractor relationships
  • Creative Team Process Improvement and Advocate (20%)

  • Implement and engage workflow best practices with creative briefs, scheduling, and stakeholder reviews
  • Help set and manage expectations with team and greater staff around design workflow and best practices
  • Build, evolve and maintain process guide and resource library

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Expertise in using Asana as primary project management tool, creating gantt charts, workflows, timelines and dependencies including filters, alerts and notifications across various teams and project boards.
  • Experienced leader of agile design sprints using collaboration technology like Gdocs and Slack.
  • Deep and fluent understanding of program management, creative workflow and design production cycles.
  • Masterful time management, organizational skills and executional ability.
  • Awareness of industry best practice and latest technologies and tools in visual design, including print production and prepress considerations.
  • Earns the trust of teammates to work creatively together. Meets commitments and holds themselves and teams accountable.
  • Works with Creative and Marketing stakeholders to build out strong communication patterns, leveraging data and insights to inform decisions appropriately prioritizing workflows based on design capacity and business needs.
  • Demonstrates an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals and stakeholders from diverse cultures, backgrounds and orientations.
