About the role

Think of all the ways you move money into and out of your bank account. You may set up payroll direct deposit, make ACH and wire transfers, make instant transfers, write and cash checks, withdraw and deposit cash, etc. These examples of “money movement” are among the most crucial, frequent, and high-value jobs to be done by our members on Chime. And because they’re so fundamental to our member experience, they have the potential to make or break our members’ dedication and trust.

The mission of this team is simple: make the movement of money as fast, easy, reliable and low-cost as possible for our members. Making these experiences frictionless and delightful requires creative vision, strong partnerships, detailed financial and risk analysis, and operational excellence. While we’re off to a great start, there remains enormous opportunity to improve and innovate.

You will build a strategy, develop product roadmaps, and partner closely with engineering to enhance our current offering and deliver new services. You will be entrusted not only with traditional product development, but also with driving alignment and results across a dedicated cross-functional team that includes risk, compliance, member services, biz dev, finance and more. These Chimers will look to you to help set the end-to-end member experience vision and goals within your area, balancing member needs with metrics like contact rate, fraud losses, compliance risk, and unit economics.

For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $190,800 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Develop a product vision and strategy for Move Money to makes this area not only frictionless and delightful, but a true center of innovation, differentiation, and member love based on understanding user needs as well as opportunities and challenges in the current experience
  • Work with your product development teams and broader cross-functional partners to develop aggressive goals and build and implement a comprehensive and unified roadmap
  • Lead and develop a team of product managers
  • In partnership with our user research team, develop strong empathy with our members and deep insights into their needs through qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Develop a deep understanding of the players and trends in the money movement ecosystem, and work closely with our biz dev and finance teams to form partnerships that help deliver on your mission
  • Build strong cases for initiatives that involve nuanced financial/risk/experience tradeoffs and create alignment on the path forward
  • Communicate Move Money’s strategy, goals and progress to peers and executives

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 8+ years of work experience, including at least 6 years in product management and 3 years in a leadership role; past experience in consulting, finance, or operations a plus
  • Experience in FinTech is preferred, given the technical, regulatory, and ecosystem complexity involved
  • A dedicated and metrics-oriented demeanor, but are member-obsessed above all; you augment your data-orientation with more qualitative approaches to developing member obsession and insight; you have strong UX instincts
  • A strong ownership mentality; you accept accountability and stay on track even in the face of headwinds; you find ways to encourage and drive the people you rely on, even and especially when they don’t report to you
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to drive results within cross-functional teams
  • A track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining top PM talent.
