About this role

As Lead Researcher, Brand & Marketing Insights at Chime, you will use your expertise in marketing research methodologies to drive actionable strategies, ultimately increasing brand awareness and adoption of Chime. Specifically, you’ll apply lessons learned from previous experience to run quantitative studies including, but not limited to, concept development and testing as well as message and claims testing. You’ll also get to assist in other areas including Brand tracking & measurement as well as advertising research.

This role reports into the Senior Manager, Brand & Marketing Insights and will work with cross functional stakeholders across the Marketing organization to drive application of Insights to influence strategy and actions.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $149,300.00 and up to $207,300.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Apply mixed methods research to provide insights although you have a pretty strong quantitative research background.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to design, execute and implement studies to help us have a better understanding of our audience attitudes, needs and behavior.
  • Work with Product Marketing and UX Research partners to provide end to end Insights support from product development to GTM strategy.
  • Assist with Brand tracking & measurement to help paint a picture of our strengths & opportunities in a highly competitive market.
  • Support other teams within Marketing including Lifecycle marketing and Paid with optimizing assets for better conversion.
  • Identify methodologies, tools, and strategies for the Insights team to adopt and add to our toolkit.
  • Identify, onboard and work with vendors (as needed) to execute studies.

To thrive in this role, you have to:

  • Be proficient in commonly used research tools and methodologies and know their strengths and limitations. You and the Insights team will be relied upon to determine the right approach for any given situation.
  • Be a very good communicator. It’s not about creating a bunch of charts and reading content from slides - it’s about telling a story that resonates and is actionable.
  • Be nimble. You will not always have all the data you need in hand or all the time in the world to execute a perfect piece of research. How you handle it matters.

Skills & Experience:

  • Past experience with cultural, lifestyle, CPG and/or fintech consumer brands is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years experience working in Market Research or Consumer Insights roles.
  • Tools:
    • Stats software like SPSS, R; Advanced Excel or similar software
    • Methodologies like MaxDiff, Stats testing, Correspondence Analysis etc.
    • Survey design and analysis tools like Qualtrics, Decipher, etc.
    • Agile research tools such as Zappi, Upsiide, MFour etc.
