About the role
The Approvals Process Manager is responsible for managing the speed, quality, and user satisfaction of the end-to-end Concepts approvals process. The process facilitates the approvals of Product originated Concepts through internal and external approvers, including Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Bank Partnerships teams.
In this role, the approvals manager will manage the end-to-end process flow, including stakeholder alignment on roles and responsibilities, approvals tracking and management, escalation/unblocking. The manager will own process performance measurement and reporting, as well as, continuous improvement and innovation within the the process to meet the needs of key stakeholders (including Bank Partnerships team, Bank Partners, Product owners of concepts, and internal review functions such as Compliance, Risk, and Legal), with a view towards driving process automation over time. In addition, the manager will build and disseminate relevant knowledge and training resources for internal stakeholders.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $116,100.00 and up to $161,300.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

The Approvals Manager is accountable for the end-to-end approvals process for Concepts through Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Bank Partners teams. Specific responsibilities include:
- Own and manage the process: Own and maintain the Approvals process, include driving the process, collaborating closely with the key collaborators responsible for adhering to the process, and unblocking/escalating as needed..
- Drive measurement and reporting: Run the reporting dashboard and build performance reports to discuss with internal partners (reviewers, bank partnerships team, Leadership) and bank partners.
- Lead continuous process improvement: Gather feedback from internal team members and bank partners to identify and implement strategic innovation across the approvals process (e.g., fast track approvals)
- Align leaders across Chime: Prepare alignment sessions with Product and Marketing teams and reviewing functions (Risk, Compliance, Legal) to review performance and discuss process changes needed. Work closely with leaders across the organization to prioritize and unblock approvals.
- Build and handle content and training: Run content resources (e.g., training, Confluence) to support process partners, identifying knowledge gaps and adding content as needed.
- Design and implement tooling improvements: Design requirements for operational tooling (e.g., Jira, Asana, etc.) to meet user needs while providing critical performance data and reporting.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 8+ years of experience in process governance (e.g., new product approvals, portfolio management, intake management, issue management, etc.).
- Excellent written communication skills particularly when drafting communications regarding process changes and requirements.
- Highly organized and thorough with strong analytical and project management skills.
- Ability to remain flexible and handle challenging priorities under demanding deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and complex partner management, with experience influencing collaborators outside of your direct team
- Strong technical skills required to create and maintain reporting and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Google Suite).
- “Get it done” attitude, strong sense of ownership, and urgency regarding work product.
