We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager to own and drive the end-to-end sourcing strategy for a portfolio of strategic spend categories within our global procurement organization. This role combines deep category expertise with strong commercial acumen to deliver cost savings, supply security, and innovation through best-in-class supplier partnerships.
The ideal candidate is a skilled negotiator and analytical thinker who can build alignment across engineering, operations, and finance stakeholders while managing complex category strategies in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies across assigned spend portfolios, balancing cost, quality, risk, and supply continuity objectives
• Lead competitive sourcing events (RFP/RFQ/RFI), evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate contracts that maximize total value
• Build and govern strategic supplier relationships through structured performance management, executive business reviews, and SLA tracking
• Conduct in-depth spend analysis, market intelligence reviews, and total cost of ownership modeling to identify and quantify sourcing opportunities
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including engineering, legal, finance, and operations to ensure sourcing decisions align with business needs
• Manage category risk including supplier financial health, geopolitical exposure, and supply chain concentration
• Lead or contribute to procurement transformation initiatives including process digitization, policy development, and supplier diversity programs
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or Finance
• 6+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience with demonstrated ownership of specific spend categories
• Proven track record of delivering measurable savings and value through competitive sourcing and negotiation
• Proficiency with eSourcing platforms (Ariba, Coupa, or equivalent) and spend analytics tools
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• CPSM or CPM certification (ISM)
• Experience managing indirect spend categories such as IT, professional services, MRO, or marketing
• MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain or Business
