Wage: $196,685 - $290,300 / per year*

Job Duties: Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks. Set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security. Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses. Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow. Work on our Data engineering team, responsible for building a scalable data platform that caters to the data plumbing needs of Chime. Transform data to governed and lucid datasets to build scalable data systems and architect and build workflows that could potentially become de facto standards for the fintech industry. Build, scale and optimize ETL pipelines. Design data warehouse schemas and scale data warehouse process data for 10x data growth. Own all aspects of data including quality, governance, schema design, and security. Own schema registry and dependency chart for persistent data. Implement the ETL workflows and make sure the pipeline meets data quality and availability requirements. Transform data to governed and lucid datasets, as well as his experience writing Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow, and Python.  He will also leverage his experience using MPP database systems, including Snowflake, AWS Redshift or Teradata. Work closely with the Product and Analytics team to lead the efforts to build new OLAP reporting features. Perform routine on-call duty, oversee Chime’s mission critical data pipelines health and performance. Mentor new data team members.

Telecommuting is permitted. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.  

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a data engineer-related occupation.

Special Requirements: Position requires at least 4 years of experience in each of the following skills:

1. Utilize experience of hands-on building and deploying production-quality data pipelines;
2. Utilize experience of working with stakeholders to provide business insights;
3. Utilize knowledge of Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow or Python to write pipelines;
4. Utilize knowledge of any MPP database system like Snowflake, AWS Redshift or Teradata;
5. Utilize track record of successful partnerships with Analytics, Data Science and DevOps teams;
6. Utilize knowledge of key metrics for data pipelines to build solutions that provide visibility to partner teams.

*The starting base salary range for this role is reflected above. Salary is one part of Chime’s competitive package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.
