Clever is seeking a creative, collaborative, and experienced Senior Product Designer to help us create fantastic experiences that help students, teachers, and parents.
That’s where you come in: You’re focused on understanding users and crafting easy-to-use products. You’re excited to apply your skills to a broad spectrum of challenges: from designing a login page for a five-year-old to creating an engaging experience for middle-school teachers, to helping parents understand how their kids are doing in school.. You excel at defining the problem space, gathering insights from users, iterating quickly, crafting beautiful interfaces, and working with engineers to see your ideas implemented.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Research the problems faced by Clever’s student and parent users to discover opportunities for improving existing products and creating new experiences they truly love.
- Understand the business strategy and articulate how proposed designs support business needs.
- Collaborate with our product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to create solutions.
- Design flows, prototypes, sketches, and high-fidelity visuals for your features and products.
- Work closely with engineering to ensure a high-quality implementation.
- Solicit feedback from your peers, including other designers and stakeholders on your product.
- Champion a high bar for design excellence across Clever’s products and services.
- Mentor other designers and contribute to product & design process improvements.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- You have 5+ years of professional experience as an in-house product designer.
- Your portfolio showcases high quality work in user research, interaction design, visual design, and ideation.
- You’re a flexible designer who spans the end-to-end design process — from outlining workflows on a whiteboard, sketching wireframes on paper, to putting together high fidelity prototypes.
- Prior experience designing for education is a plus.
- Your design is driven by a deeply developed awareness of your users and their context, asking “why?” as often as “what?”
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can present designs to and gather feedback from internal teams, executives, and external partners.
- You can mentor and coach other designers

For Colorado* based candidates - The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in Colorado is between $114,000 - $133,600, final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise. We offer a full robust benefits package and stock options. Because Clever’s base compensation is driven by location, our recruiters will be happy to discuss a salary range for other locations during the interview process.
