About The Role

This is an engineering management position where we are looking for someone who enjoys performing as a player & a coach. We are looking for someone with software engineering expertise, project management and personal management skills. You will work directly with software developers to make design decisions focused on performance, scalability, quality, customer value, and opportunity cost. You will drive the evolution of development processes and tools towards continuous delivery. You will also inspire and mentor software developers. Our engineers are smart, flexible, and love solving difficult challenges. They look to their managers for clarity, support, career development, and honest feedback.

You will join an experienced management group dedicated to recruiting and improving our technical talent, software products and delivery processes. We are passionate about maintaining a positive, collaborative culture - one where everyone has an opportunity to grow, challenge themselves, and make great things happen.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accelerate the success of the organization by leading people, processes and projects
• Drive multiple technical projects to completion in various areas of our system
• Work with staff members directly on career development and enable personal growth through project deliverables
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback on design decisions
• Drive evolution of quality initiatives through automation
• Evolve development processes and tools to optimize team productivity
• Drive the vision for continuous delivery
• When travel conditions re-open and are considered safe, international travel required approximately 2-4 weeks a year

Qualifications

     Skills

• 5+ years of full-stack development preferably in a startup engineering environment using various programming languages
• 2+ years of hands-on technical management experience leading development teams
• 2+ years of direct personal management with a track record of mentoring software engineers for career advancement and promotion
• Experience working with cross functional teams (product, analytics, business leaders)
• Delivered multiple software projects simultaneously, with high quality and timely execution
• Experience with high load websites, large datasets, and both functional and code complexity
• Proven analytical and technical skills with a creative problem-solving ability
• Experience supporting distributed development teams in multiple locations
• The ability to work flexible hours with Europe and India via remote meetings - because we are an internationally distributed team and communication is key to success
• A clear, concise, and candid communicator, able to promote discussion between team members
• Passionate about making an impact in product, business and technical innovation
• Comfortable making decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with ambiguities
• A collaborative leader with the ability to gather requirements and influence organizational change
• A champion for Test Driven development and testable code
• Able to deliver high performing, scalable applications
