About the role

Chime is seeking a talented and eager Sr. Manager, Equity Administration to join its growing Finance team. This role will report to the Director of Equity Administration and will be integral in facilitating the day-to-day activities of Chime’s equity incentive programs. Chime uses Morgan Stanley Shareworks for equity plan administration, financial reporting, and capitalization table management. Much of this role will be focused on assisting with the daily administration, data reconciliation from Shareworks, and subsequently reporting this information as needed internally to Payroll, Tax, Accounting, Audit, People, Legal, etc.  Chime uses Workday as our HRIS and payroll system. We offer eligible employees Restricted Stock Units (RSU) and have outstanding Incentive Stock Options (ISO) and Non-qualified Stock Options (NQSO). Although we don’t currently offer an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), we may consider doing so in the future.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $130,050 and up to $180,600. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Update and maintain our equity administration platform, Morgan Stanley Shareworks, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Chime’s equity data including eligibility, approvals, processing stock option and restricted stock unit awards, exercises and settlements, tax withholdings, expirations, cancellations, repurchases, terminations and other plan-related actions
  • Prepare grant agreements and load new grant data to the Shareworks monthly; reconcile and document grant data for Audit team and coordinate with People team for Workday updates
  • Maintain company’s equity cap table, liaison with external shareholders and investors as needed
  • Partner with our external record-keeper, Morgan Stanley, to execute employee equity transactions, ensuring accurate and timely tax withholding and reporting to Payroll and Tax teams when applicable
  • Assist Legal and People teams by sharing executive grant & transactional data for officers, census reporting, and applicable disclosures
  • Perform frequent reconciliation of records between HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, etc. 
  • Work with internal and external auditors as well as Accounting team for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews; ensure that tight internal controls are in place and procedures are followed to satisfy periodic review of compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Create and generate recurring reports for multiple internal and external corporate partners (e.g., People, Payroll, Tax, Finance, Accounting, etc.), and respond timely to ad hoc data requests from various business partners
  • Collaborate with People team to ensure the integrity of employee data within the HRIS
  • Conducting various equity analysis, modeling and testing
  • Assist in the creation of communication materials and presentations to support analysis, and implementation of programs
  • Educate employees on the foundational structure and value of their equity compensation

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 8-12  years’ experience administering equity in both the private and public space
  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation preferred; familiarity with Morgan Stanley Shareworks and Workday a plus
  • Knowledge of tax regulations related to equity compensation plans
  • Flexibility and eagerness to work hard in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly organized, process-driven, independent, self-motivated
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform self-audit to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Advanced Excel, G-Suite, and reconciliation skills a plus
  • Ability to manage up and work with multiple stakeholders across the company
