Vault is HashiCorp’s multi-cloud security platform playing a central role in modern application deployments. Its open source community has tens of thousands of active, engaged users. Its enterprise users include some of the largest finance, healthcare, and technology companies in the world. Vault’s core use cases are in Secrets Management, Encryption and Data protection. As Vault is growing - in mind share, revenue, and team size, we are now focused on enhancing our core secrets, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and key management use cases. 

This role is for someone who has expertise in core security technology and business critical enterprise software. You will help evolve the core secrets management capabilities, accelerate key and certificate management strategy, conduct user research, define requirements, and oversee execution across engineering and marketing. You will work closely with the Vault engineering team to support release cycles in order to continuously improve Vault capabilities for its core use cases.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Responsible for core secrets management, key management and PKI capabilities for HashiCorp Vault. 
  • Identify opportunities and customer needs for adjacent workflows and new areas for secrets management applicability
  • Craft strategy by understanding the market and competitive landscape, customer needs, and HashiCorp principles.
  • Write detailed strategy documents to set the context for the roadmap
  • Prioritize the product roadmap by taking feedback from Vault practitioners, partners, engineering, marketing, and the HashiCorp vision.
  • Conduct research and write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to distill the research into requirements for engineering to deliver
  • Communicate product status to all partners. Keep sales and marketing updated on feature releases and keep engineering informed on feature requests
  • Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc) 
  • Work closely with marketing on refining and evolving go-to-market strategies and plan

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • 7+ years of product management experience with security, cloud security or identity management for Enterprise products
  • Understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps workflows and needs 
  • Strong technical acumen, with a solid understanding of infrastructure, open source software and modern application architectures 
  • Strong user and market research skills
  • Ability to organize multiple stakeholders towards a common goal
  • Analytical with the ability to prioritize and make decisions quickly 
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS, PKI and Key management in large enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of identity systems, HSMs is a plus
