You will play a key role in translating each client’s design and construction standards into a working AUD configuration, ensuring successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimization.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on utility design or drafting experience with a technical aptitude for software configuration. You are a self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for applying technology to modernize how utilities design and build their networks.

Performance Objectives

  • Configure, test, and implement SBS Automated Utility Design (AUD) software for electric utility clients across the full project lifecycle, from requirements through go-live

  • Interpret client design and construction standards and translate them into AUD configuration, including materials, compatible units, design rules, and engineering calculations that drive accurate bills of materials and construction work packages

  • Lead requirements-gathering workshops with client engineering, design, and IT stakeholders, and collaborate with internal Project Managers and developers to deliver tailored solutions

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on AUD functionality, configuration approach, and industry best practices to meet each client’s business objectives

  • Support deployment and ongoing optimization of AUD within client environments, including user acceptance testing (UAT), end-user training, and post-go-live support

  • Troubleshoot configuration and technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement timely, effective resolutions

  • Prepare and maintain configuration documentation, design specifications, and status updates for clients and project teams

  • Track and report progress against project scope, schedule, and budgeted hours

  • Participate in client meetings, workshops, and industry conferences as needed

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of configuration processes, reusable templates, and delivery methodologies, and share knowledge with team members

Competitive Candidate Profile

Willingness and ability to travel to client sites and conferences (varying by project phase)

    Preferred Experience:
    • Experience in electric utility distribution design, engineering, or drafting

    • Prior experience with SBS AUD or other utility design automation software

    • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD and related tools

    • Experience with GIS platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, GE Smallworld, or similar systems
