The Role at a Glance

Role: Technical Program Manager

Team: Devops Engineering

Location: Remote

Opportunity for Impact

We’re searching for a Technical Program Manager to join our DevOps and SRE team in a remote or hybrid capacity. At this level, you operate with a high degree of autonomy – leading large-scale, cross-functional technical programs, influencing technical and business leadership, and driving alignment across complex organizational ecosystems. You bring the experience to identify patterns and trends, integrate them into proactive program planning, and ensure initiatives are delivered with clarity and consistency. We’re looking for someone who understands that winning is a team sport, who learns from diverse perspectives, and who can, at any given time, step back and have some fun.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead prioritization and develop integrated program plans that align cross-functional teams and technical leadership across large-scale initiatives
  • Expertly identify, map, and manage complex dependencies by applying deep technical knowledge to surface upstream and downstream impacts
  • Deliver regular, business-ready updates and insights to cross-functional leaders, ensuring full transparency on progress, resource needs, and organizational capacity
  • Proactively anticipate and identify emerging risks across complex, multi-workstream initiatives, escalating high-impact issues with data-driven insights and clear recommendations
  • Drive resolution of bottlenecks and address interdependencies across complex, multi-team ecosystems by engaging directly with stakeholders to translate program needs into actionable plans
  • Own program communication – tailoring updates on goals, status, risks, and decisions for each audience from engineering teams to business and technical leadership
  • Facilitate integrated planning and retrospective sessions with cross-functional teams, surfacing coordination challenges and optimizing workflows and resource allocation
  • Drive process innovation across program stakeholders, developing and implementing frameworks for continuous improvement in team coordination and delivery quality

What We’re Looking For

If this role sounds like the right next move, we’d love to hear from you. You might bring:

  • 8+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional technical programs in fast-paced, enterprise-scale technology environments
  • Proven track record of engaging and influencing technical and cross-functional leadership to align resources and drive outcomes across large-scale programs

Ability to facilitate productive conflict and build consensus to accelerate decision-making and problem resolution

Experience identifying organizational trends and patterns and incorporating them proactively into program planning and risk mitigation strategies

  • Experience engaging cross-functional stakeholders with diverse viewpoints to drive alignment, manage expectations, and maintain transparency across all phases of complex initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and drive alignment across matrixed, cross-functional organizations
  • Deep understanding of software development practices, cloud-based delivery models, and DevOps and SRE principles within modern engineering ecosystems

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Jira and Confluence – leveraged to identify, track, and surface insights across complex program landscapes
  • AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools including Atlassian Rovo and Claude

Talent shows up in a lot of different ways, and we mean that. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and experience levels, including military members and their spouses and those without a traditional degree or tech background. If this role speaks to you, apply.

Why You’ll Like Working Here

Our people-first culture means you’re seen, supported, and set up to grow. We work across flexible models because we trust our teams to deliver, not just show up. You’ll collaborate with people who care about work and each other, and you’ll have leaders who are invested in where you’re headed.

How We’ll Support You

We invest in the whole person, not just the role. Our benefits and resources are built to support your health, your time, and your life outside of work:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
  • Holiday and Vacation Time
  • Health & Wellness Days
  • A Bonus Day for Your Birthday

Compensation Transparency

Our targeted starting base salary in the United States for this position ranges from USD 93,000 – USD 130,000. We take a thoughtful, consistent approach to compensation and consider a variety of factors, including depth and breadth of experience, skills and role scope. Depending on the role, team members may also be eligible for additional compensation plans (bonus and commission).

Your Security Matters:  Our candidates’ personal information and online safety are top of mind. Applied communicates with candidates only via a secure @appliedsystems.com email address or through our official careers portal. Recruiters will never request payments or ask for financial account or sensitive personal information like Social Security numbers.

AI Utilization

We leverage AI tools to streamline parts of our recruitment workflow (such as resume parsing and interview scheduling). However, candidate screening, interviews, and final decisions are always conducted by real humans.
